The six police officers, a reservist and a civilian who were arrested two weeks ago by the detective services, anti corruption unit, crime intellingence criminal records and crime scene management and tactical response team for alleged corruption have been appearing in court in groups.
The eight suspects have been appearing in the Komani Magistrate’s Court since their arrest on January 31.
Constable Siyanda Gunuza was the first to be denied bail and his case postponed to February 24 while warrant officer Monwabisi Dyongo and sergeant Andiswa Jikumlambo will appear on February 20. Reservist constable Mzimkhulu Ndevu, warrant officer Amos Rafu and civilian Makgotso Kesa appeared in court for their bail application on Wednesday and Thursday. It could not be established what the outcome of that bail application was. The Rep will continue to follow the story.
