Support for new leaders

FORMER Chris Hani District Municipality chief whip Lindiwe Gunuza Nkwentsha and former Lukhanji finance head Mzoxolo Peter have received the approval of the ANC Youth League in Enoch Mgijima sub region to head the new entity as executive mayor and speaker respectively.
In a statement, The league said it was important to have leaders who understood the challenges and frustrations of the youth.
The ANCYL said leaders who would not compromise the principles of the ANC and satisfied leadership requirements as stated in the ANC guiding document, Through the Eye of the Needle, were needed.

Both Nkwentsha and Peter had served and led the structures of the ANC Youth League and were considered suitable candidates for the positions as they represented the poor and understood the needs of locals, they said.
The first council meeting of the Enoch Mgijima municipality, a new entity as a result of the merger of Tsolwana, Lukhanji and Inkwanca municipalities will take place today at the Mzi Skweyiya Hall in Mlugnisi where the executive mayor and speaker are expected to be elected and the executive mayoral committee will be announced.
