QUEENSTOWN stream soccer clubs competed at the weekend at the Dumpy Adams Stadium with the aim of representing the area in the Lukhanji Mayoral Cup on June 25.
The rugby and netball codes will also be represented on the day.
Chris Hani sports council regional chairman Phumelele Hlati said in the first match Komani Conquerors lost to Swallows 4-1, followed by Tiger Boys’ 5-1 win over Argentina while Rainbow lost 2-1 to Komani Stars. He said Swallows will play Tiger Boys in the semifinal on Sunday at 11am.
Super 12 will either play Komani Stars or Atletico at noon at the Dumpy Adams Stadium.
Hlati said the eight streams in the Sada villages – Dongwe, Sada and Komani, Ilinge and Machibini, Tylden and Gwatyu Farms, Ezibeleni and Ndlovukazi and Zingquthu – must each play their eliminations to secure a place in the Lukhanji Mayoral Cup.
Rugby teams in the Lukhanji area will play seven-a-side at the Mlungisi Stadium while soccer and netball will be played at Dumpy Adams on June 25.
Winners from each code will represent Lukhanji in the Chris Hani Mayoral Cup competition.
