Police seize dagga in Stutterheim

THE Stutterheim police arrested three suspects for possession of dagga in Stutterheim on Monday night.

Police spokesman CaptainSiphokazi Mawisa said the suspects, aged between 30 and 35, included a shop owner who was allegedly found in possession of dagga. In nearby Mlungisi, two further suspects were also arrested with dagga valued at R30 000 seized.

“The Acting Cluster Commander of King Williams Town, Colonel Andile Lamana, appreciates the working relationship between the community and the police in fighting crime and also thanked the community for the  valuable information which led to the arrest of the suspects.”

Lamana encouraged community members to report criminals and/or criminal activities to the police on Crime Stop 08600 10111, Crime Line 32211 or the nearest police station.

The suspects will appear in the Stutterheim Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
